SUBSTANCE ABUSE SCREENING
A drug screen from a urine sample to detect the trace of abused substances. The tests are a 9 Panel screen using
DHHS/SAMHSA (NIDA) approved cut off levels. The initial EMIT confirms either positive or negative trace
elements. All presumptively positive results are confirmed through gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GCMS).
TURN AROUND TIME. Initial confirmation of the first EMIT screen within 24 hours of collection. GCMS positive
confirmation within 2 to 3 days following initial EMIT screen.
SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER VERIFIED
Social Security numbers are commonly falsified to avoid employment history or residences which may be sites of
previous criminal activity. A clever applicant with something to hide may intentionally supply a falsified number. Others
may inadvertently furnish incorrect numbers. Either case should be verified. TURNAROUND TIME. 30 minutes to an
hour from time of request.
CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK
Each county maintains criminal records and sets procedures for the release of an individual's criminal record. Counties
will confirm criminal convictions and pending criminal litigations. NOTE. Only law enforcement agencies with a need to
know (probable cause) have access to the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC). Beware of any company or
individual claiming to provide this type of search, as they are either providing the report illegally, and if so, bring the
possibility of legal action against your company, or they are making a false claim.
TURN AROUND TIME. If accessed by computer 3O minutes.
CIVIL RECORDS CHECK
Like criminal records all counties keep civil records that can be helpful in an employers pre-employment process.
These records will show all pending or past civil judgments. This check can provide another valuable tool for selection
of qualified employees.
TURNAROUND TIME. Harris County 30 minutes to an hour. Other counties at the discretion of the county.
PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICALS
Type "A" This is a regular medical examination.
Type "B" This is a physical fitness stress test designed to meet the criteria of a specific job description.
TURN AROUND TIME. Results reported within 24 hours of examination.
MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD
All states have an agency like the Department of Motor Vehicles. These agencies reveal such personal data as full
name, DOB, address at the time the license was issued or renewed, physical description, the type of license granted
and any restrictions on its use. Additionally, of course, the motor vehicle report (MVR) will list violations of traffic and
safety laws committed by the subject while the license has been in effect, as well as any suspensions or revocations.
TURN AROUND TIME. 24 hour turn around time if requested before noon.
WORKER'S COMPENSATION SEARCH
A majority of states impose relatively few restrictions of release of Worker's Compensation records. A signed release
is required. This service is useful for companies with physically demanding jobs. Through the search, employers can
easily learn something about the individual's susceptibility to injury and frequency of claims litigated (taken to court).
TURN AROUND TIME.- 24 hours from time of request.
EDUCATION/WORK VERIFIED
It is estimated that 30% of all job applicants falsify information to the employer in one form or another. It is believed
that a majority of job applicants misrepresent their previous work history, salary or education. Once verified, gaps of
employment can be indicators of criminal behavior or incarceration and should be explained by applicant.
TURNAROUND TIME. From 1 to 5 days
PRE-EMPLOYMENT ASSESSMENT
Following the legal limitations of pre-employment polygraph, employers are limited as to the tools which can be used to
disclose workers attitudes. The popularity of pre-employment assessments have increased to fill this void. This
characterization will gage prities to substance abuse, work place theft, positive and negative work habits,
supervision acceptance and potential.

CREDIT INFORMATION
Credit history can reveal several qualities of applicants financial status. This report can identify the reliability of financial
problems that could adversely affect the candidate's performance on the job. Credit reports can also uncover residence
and employment helpful to investigate criminal behavior.

SHRINKAGE REVIEW
Anonymous surveying for improved operations and decrease shrinkage. Employees would like to communicate to
management in a non-intimidating, or otherwise safe way, the things management should know to make operations
more profitable. Shrinkage Review provides methods of accomplishing this. Employee/management relations, training,
quality, customer service, job satisfaction, fairness, and loss prevention are a few examples of areas in which critical
employee feedback can be analyzed. Successful organizations are learning to listen to their most valuable asset, their
people. The results enable management to discover and confront problems before they prove too costly and to
maximize positive trends while the opportunity exists. This allows the entire company to carry out the company mission
working together.
